Biagio, Anthony, and Sal, the three brothers who own and operate Pomodoro in Fairfax Town Centre, have been serving family-style Italian fare since opening the restaurant more than two decades ago. These days, Pomodoro has ramped up its takeout and delivery capabilities, providing classic Italian American comfort food for family dinners at home (4 to 7:30 pm on weekdays, with extended hours on Fridays and Saturdays, and an early close on Sunday).
Pomodoro is probably best known for its New York–style pizzas, with thin foldable slices and just the right combination of crunch and chewiness. Gourmet pizza options include specialty toppings like buffalo chicken, spinach and feta, or ricotta with garlic. Other takeout favorites include ham and cheese calzones, baked ziti, eggplant parmigiana, and linguine with clams. No matter what you order, make sure you leave some room for one of the house-made desserts, including rich tiramisu and creamy cannoli.
