If you’re looking for a Valentine’s dinner destination that won’t require fighting DC traffic, Fairfax’s Parc de Ville may be just what you’re after. Regulars say the tiled bar is a dreamy location to enjoy a glass of French wine, while the 100-seat dining room, decorated in an industrial-chic style, is imposing without being stuffy. Before opening Parc de Ville, owners Ian and Eric Hilton made their names with spots like Georgetown’s Chez Billy Sud, and this place expands on the pair’s classic French bistro model.

Standout menu items include the French onion soup and pate de campagne to start, as well as classic dishes like mussels and steak frites for your main course. Make sure to leave yourself room for one of the delectable dessert options–the warm maple cake and the pate choux are both winners. Yelpers say that prices are reasonable and portions are generous.
