Searching for ways to give back this holiday season? Add the Mosby Woods Turkey Trot and Sidewalk Stroll to your list of must-participate events. This one-of-a-kind Thanksgiving Day turkey trot puts more focus on the donations and giving back than the race itself. How, you ask? It’s free to run—the only entry fee is a canned good donation that will then be donated to a local food bank to help those in need in our community.
The race is super low-key according to their website. Roads will remain open and the race is entirely on sidewalks and safe walkways through town (you can find the course map here). You’ll also notice that there are two races: one a 1-miler for the kids at 8:30 a.m., and a traditional 5K race at 9:00 a.m. so the whole family can participate. There’s no easier or more fun way to give back this season, so start your Thanksgiving off with this heartwarming event!
