Looking to make the most of the end of summer? Here are a some fun ways to maximize your remaining summer days!
- Plan a last-minute vacation. You don't have to go on a full-blown vacation in order to have fun with family and friends. Instead, plan a road trip somewhere nearby, such as Virginia Beach, to visit Frank Lloyd Wright's famous Fallingwater, or for a weekend in the city in Washington or Baltimore.
- Have a barbecue. Invite your closest friends over for an old fashioned barbecue to prolong the summer season. Check out these great barbecue recipes while planning the menu.
- Make back-to-school shopping fun. Instead of looking at back-to-school shopping as a daunting task, make things a bit more fun. Make plans to go shopping with a group of your kids' friends and parents, shop for the best deals by clipping coupons together or even create a budget and let the kids learn about money by sticking to it.
- Host a water fight. Before the warm weather leaves for the year, break out the swimsuits one last time. Set up a slip-n-slide, fill some water balloons and host a water fight with the kids' friends.
